Álvaro Gómez is a Spanish artist whose practice lies at the intersection of sculpture and collectible design.
After an initial professional phase in building restoration, he redirected his practice in 2022 towards a more experimental and artistic approach, studying Product and Furniture Design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. He currently works between Madrid and Milan.
His work focuses primarily on sculptures and limited-edition sculptural furniture, conceived as part of an ongoing artistic research. His pieces are developed as physical presences rather than functional solutions, exploring the relationship between form, weight, balance and space.
Through an architectural lens, his work investigates the tension between formal plasticity and the physical laws that sustain it, integrating structural logic as an intrinsic part of its aesthetic language.
The human figure and the body in space play a central role in his practice, alongside a sustained interest in timeless materials such as bronze, iron and marble.
